Pro wrestling is a tough business, 200+ venues a year, traveling 350 days or more a year. Lots of temptation for steroids, pain medicine, booze, uppers, sleep medicine, just to get some air time. Everyone is pushed past the limit, those that can't keep up loose air time and their job. Their is no supplied medical insurance for the injuries that are received, you get injured your out of work; most people cannot see the attrition, nor do they appreciate as much as they could.
